Cruisers can also enjoy a ropes course, Carnival Waterworks with 3 slides, and mini-golf which are all complimentary. The ship is one of the more diverse that we’ve sailed, with guests of all races, ages and socio-economic onboard. Every sailing will have a heavy dose of families onboard, especially summer and holiday voyages. One of the highlights for us when we cruise is interacting with the crewmembers who work onboard a ship. We often leave with new friends and photos of the people who made our cruise so special. I'm not a huge drinker, so I didn't personally try cocktails from the Center Stage Bar (Deck 6) or Grand View Bar (Deck 7) in Grand Central. The former features a bit of a retro vibe, and the latter is backed by a giant light-up wall that looks like wave. I also wasn't impressed with how long it took a bartender to ask for my order, especially since it wasn't particularly crowded. In addition to a fun selection of cocktails — some of which involve candy — the bar's theme is tied to an animated octopus named Dr. Inks. She has a Ph.D., pet butterflies and extensive collections of both books and fashionable eyewear.

Because there were no passengers, their responsibilities turned to readying the vessel. That meant I was able to see them more relaxed as they worked on nailing every last detail before the big first sailing. They include drawings by children from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Dr. Seuss characters and wildlife scenes that will make you feel like you're sailing in different areas of the world. Again, I couldn't fit every single restaurant into my time on Carnival Jubilee, so I missed out on Bonsai Teppanyaki, where chefs grill your food right in front of you, complete with corny jokes. I also missed Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, another Guy Fieri creation that serves barbecue fare, wings and microbrewed beer made right on the ship (lunch is free). I couldn't make it to Chef's Table, an exclusive multicourse small-group dining experience that's the most pricey meal on board, either.

The Camp Ocean space is conveniently located on the same deck as the Family Harbor staterooms and Family Harbor Lounge. Those looking for a fun workout in a group setting can partake in fitness classes such as yoga, pilates, indoor cycling, and boot camp. Additionally, the Cloud 9 Spa offers a variety of treatments such as facials, massages, and body wraps. The adjacent thermal suite includes a whirlpool, rain showers, steam rooms, a sauna, and heated tile loungers. A salon is nearby too, where guests can get manis and pedis, haircuts and styles, and more. The large Jubilee Casino is on deck 7, spanning through and beyond the second story of the Grand Central atrium.

There’s the smaller one-story Atlantic Restaurant on deck 6 midship and the larger two-story Pacific Restaurant on decks 6 and 7 aft. Now, it was time to check out the Summer Landing zone aft on Deck 8. This zone features the Patio Pool along with a couple whirlpools. If you're in a hurry and don't feel like waiting, check out the Marina Bar on Deck 8, where you can snag the same coffee beverages with a shorter (or nonexistent) line. The ladies there made my almond milk coconut lattes perfectly every time. If you opt for the latter, you could be in for long lines to enter the main dining room during peak times, even if you check in ahead of time using Carnival's Hub app. Give me one or two pina coladas on a weeklong cruise, and I'm good to go.
